Poker with the Guys
So last Saturday I was at Todd's to help out with and see what a live Fantasy Football draft was like. It was pretty crazy...funny...and rather entertaining. It did get quite a bit repetitive but that's what a draft is I suppose. I got to write down all the picks on the master sheet, which wasn't in my plans but turned out to be ok. It allowed me to be part of the action.
After the draft was finished we all went upstairs with the exception of some of the guys who had to leave for prior engagements. Then it was time to play poker. There were 8 guys and then me. It was a great time. I had a fair amount of chips taken from me early by my dear boyfriend because he floped the low straight when I had AQ. But what are you going to do. I played a few more hands and then just sat back for a few to regain some thought and just watch how the guys played. Then I took my stand...well kind of. I was able to bluff Todd a few times as well as the other guys. Maybe they were being nice but none the less I took their chips. Went all-in on Eric A. and hit my straight on the flop I had KJ and it came ATQ. Pretty sweet there because I do believe he had KKs if my memory serves me correctly. Then it came down to me and Tony at the end of the game. I had A4 diamonds and he had 44. Took some time for me to decide to call as it was an all-in call. Decided to gamble because I don't think I could play heads-up much longer. Hit the A on the flop to pair and luckily the other 4 didn't hit the board. I won the first game played with the guys. It was great. Next game there were only 5 of us and again I went up against Eric A on an all-in call. I think he had KJ but I had AA so I ended up knocking him out of the game. I'm sure that he won't be as nice to me next time we play. All in all I finished 3rd in that game. Todd took me out with his AA up against my AK. A-hole hits his A on the turn and then I was out of luck. Oh well, he ended up heads-up against Labelle and won. Needless to say we kept the winnings in the family last Saturday. It was fun and I'm sure I'll always remember my first poker game with Todd's friends.

You won't be the only one to remember it. Most people remember when a girl plays...but it was the first time I can recall the girl actually winning.
